I love Paris in the springtime…or during January sales!
While unpacking from my 3 week voyage to Paris, I find myself reflecting happily on my recent purchases! Where does one begin to count the ways? The fact that almost everything was on sale is number one. The fact that my husband didn’t leave me at the airport, number two (although, that would have cost more if I continued with my faire les soldes)! Let me try to explain my joie de vivre…
My first prized acquisitions are my three Anne Fontaine shirts. Blanc, bien sur. (The nouvelle collection black dress with adorable white ribbing on the ruffles, still remains on the rack however. I will visit my friends’, whom I convinced “she must have”, until I break down and buy it in Chicago.) Second, my very subtle black and navy blazer from Gerard Darel, which I will wear with EVERYTHING (nouvelle collection, HAD to have)! Along the way, I also found some pretties at Cotelac, Journal Standard luxe, GST 28 Showroom and Galleries Lafayette (great sale on Ralph Lauren sheets my son has been coveting). And my piece de resistance- a pair of Prada-look-a-like, high heel, black patent pumps with a tiny camel-colored bow on the front; half the price of Prada! Je les aime! (For those who need to know, they are by Cosmo Paris, nouvelle collection, found at Printemps (found while I was in the resort town of Deauville, France).
Lastly, if you are pondering if my husband joined me in my fav past-time? Oui! Jerry acquired a very handsome, sleek charcoal grey suit, found in the 3eme Arr at Vito. The shop- small and unpretentious, the sales associates knowledgeable and friendly – I highly recommend it! In addition , found at Novus (numerous throughout Paris), Jerry now sports the newest plaid (different than gingham) button down shirt and year-round cashmere blend v-neck sweater. I must admit, I am very proud of my husband as he has embraced the European style. He looks tres beau (and thin)! Attention ALL Boys- throw away those pleated pants with cuffs (adds pounds and shortens legs)! Just do it- MAINTENANT!
Stay tuned for my next blog, when I attempt to list only a few of my Parisian meilleurs, and fab restaurants…for now I have shopped till I dropped; including a t-shirt requested by my brother.
