Style High Club

Over the last few decades I have really racked up the frequent flyer miles–having been a flight attendant in my past life and now as an avid traveler. Sadly, over these years I have witnessed a disappointing change in the way travelers approach flying–particularly in the style department. And I wouldn’t be the outspoken “Style Muse” that I am if I didn’t take a moment to voice my opinion on airport outfitting.  So up, up, and away I go….

Fashionably conscientious travelers, I beg of you, leave the Juicy sweats behind. That trend went viral, but it has run its course! What is the remedy? Try a comfortable legging or jegging (a jean/legging hybrid), Pair with a stylish oversized sweater (or wrap that can double as a blanket), and a pair of ankle boots (or flats for easy removal) and you have accomplished a fashionable and comfortable look that is fit to be travelled in. 

Another travel don’t? Pants that do not completely cover ones’ derriere. I recently experienced this major faux pas first hand and it wasn’t pretty–trust me. Why should innocent travelers be exposed to someone’s fleshy booty simply due to the unfortunate coincidence of standing behind them while walking up stairs? Furthermore (and particularly nauseating) why do I need to sit on the same airplane seat that a stranger’s half naked butt had previously been wallowing all over? Point made I’m sure. 

I long for the days when flying meant dressing up and looking like you were doing something special. Realistically however, I just want travelers to dress in a manner that is appropriate for public viewing (and if this is done with some flair, you really get some Style Muse bonus points)!
