Shape wear is “in”!

Let’s be honest, sometimes looking fabulous is just plain difficult! And, now with the the array of shapewear available, it’s confusing as well! However, as the old adage says, “it’s better to be beautiful on the inside”, right? Currently this also can be loosely interpreted as “inside your outermost clothing”!
Yummie Tummie, Spanx… the list could go on forever. Thankfully, girdles are now a thing of the past. Or are they? I ponder, what happens when you find yourself in that moment of truth after a simmering night out with your significant other? Or, better yet- what do you do when you need to duct tape “the girls” in your wedding dress cuz the myriad of shapewear just isn’t right?! (Not only is this going to be a huge surprise to the newly-wed hubby, but also “ouch”!)
No matter, whatever your particular issue is (we All think we have them), try to think of shapewear as your friend. Move over “Virginia Slim”, cigs are out, shapewear is in! Or, go Commando!

“Just say no” to Jorts!

This summer we saw a resurgence of denim shorts on women.  This style worked–at least on most women who wore them.  The trend fails miserably, however, when mensport what we affectionately term the “jort”.  Men, this blog is for you, so pay attention if you ever plan on getting lucky again.  I’ll get right to the point; don’t wear jean shorts. Throw them away if you already own them (don’t even think about donating them), and resist the temptation of ever buying a pair or home-making them again.  In the immortal words of President Reagan, “Just say no” (to jorts)!

But, you ask, what do you wear in the heat of summer that conveys the image that you are both stylish and relaxed?  How about a madras plaid short (we found a great one at Hurley); or, even better, a nice summer seersucker (try Vineyard Vines)?   Of course, cargo shorts and bermudas are still hanging on (we love Gant).  However, if you really want to be fashion forward, do what European men have been doing for seasons and rock the man-capri (Dolce & Gabbana does it right!).  And as an added bonus, during this time of the season, you’re sure to find the look you like on sale!

My first blog! Still in the grey area…

We’ve all heard blogging is a “must” nowadays, the hot new trend!  I thought just getting a website up, learning Facebook and Twitter was enough (which I’m still trying to figure it out)!  But, no, someone had to add blogging to the mix.  Well, I’m giving in and going to give it my best shot!  I’ll be writing about fashion of course; the latest fads, what to do and what NOT to do, stylin’ tips- you get the gist.  I’ll also be adding some photos for your viewing pleasure regarding my post and maybe some “fashion do-nots” along the way. (Don’t let me catch you on camera! No, there won’t be any faces on these.)  Along this journey, please let me know if you would like to read about something in particular and I’ll give it a try.
